Abuse In Later Life

Approximately 10,000 people turn 65 years old every day. As the population ages, the number of reports of abuse, neglect and exploitation of older adults is rising. In many cases, the abuser is an intimate partner, adult child or other family member or caregiver of the older victim. This seminar will address how to identify and effectively respond to domestic violence in later life. Using case studies, this interactive workshop will focus on the dynamics of abuse in later life; practical strategies to address safety needs and to enhance the quality life of older victims.
