Reporting Suspected Abuse
If abuse is suspected, contact law enforcement in the city where the person and/or client resides.
- Law enforcement shares the report with the Department of Human Services/the Department of Social Services Adult Protection Services (APS) within 24 hours
- Law enforcement provides a copy of their investigation report to APS and the District Attorney in the county where the person and/or client resides
- APS may investigate the report and offer the person/client protective services
- The District Attorney will review the report for possible criminal charges
